Эдипов комплекс (по Фрейду: фаза раннего психологического развития индивида, когда ребенок ощущает сильное чувство любви к своей матери и одновременно чувство ненависти к своему отцу, потому что отец обладает сексуальными правами на мать; комплекс преодолевается, когда мальчик подавляет эротическое (не сексуальное) влечение к матери и антагонизм по отношению к отцу; по Фрейду: преодоление Эдипова комплекса является рубежом в развитии ребенка и означает освобождение от ранней зависимости от родителей, его становление как автономного существа; этот период наступает в возрасте 4-5 лет (Эдипова стадия), когда большинство детей учится обходиться без постоянного присутствия своих родителей)
